The ebm-papst CN1127 MMCU (Modbus Monitor & Control Unit) is a DIN rail-mounted Ethernet gateway that connects, auto-addresses and manages up to 99 ebm-papst Modbus-enabled EC fans from a single device. Designed for building services engineers and mechanical contractors managing multi-fan ventilation systems, the MMCU provides real-time monitoring, control, and BMS integration via a built-in webserver, no additional software or third-party tools required.

This listing includes the first year's subscription to the ebm-papst InSights dashboard, giving access to cloud-based fleet monitoring, performance analytics, and predictive maintenance data across connected EC fan networks.

Key Features

• Connects and auto-addresses up to 99 ebm-papst EC fans (software version 5.0 or later) over a two-wire plus ground RS485 connection
• Dual connectivity: Ethernet (RJ45) and Wi-Fi hotspot — configure and monitor via a built-in webserver from any browser
• BMS port (RS485 Modbus) for integration with external Modbus master devices, including building management systems
• Real-time monitoring and control data via the webserver interface — fan speed, status, fault diagnostics
• DIN rail mount, IP20 enclosure — suitable for panel installation in plant rooms and AHU control cabinets
• Wide supply voltage range: 24 VDC (12–57 V) from external PSU, or 24 VAC (20–28 VAC) from external transformer
• Compact footprint: 160 × 90 mm, weight 165 g
• Operating range: -20°C to +60°C

Typical Applications

The CN1127 MMCU is used wherever multiple ebm-papst EC fans are deployed and central monitoring or BMS integration is required:

• Air handling units (AHUs) — multi-fan supply and extract configurations with BMS setpoint control
• Data centres and server rooms — EC fan arrays requiring precise speed control and real-time fault monitoring
• Commercial ventilation systems — centralised control of EC fans across HVAC plant without individual drive commissioning
• Refrigeration and cold storage plant — where EC fan efficiency and predictive maintenance data are critical

Compliance and Certifications

EMC: EN61000-6-3 (emissions), EN61000-6-2 (immunity). Safety: EN62368-1.

Also available from iACS: full range of ebm-papst EC fan controls and accessories, RS485 signal converters, and cables and connectors.
