how an expansion valve works
The expansion valve allows the liquid refrigerant in the evaporator to expand or change state from liquid to vapour by relieving pressure on it. The high-pressure liquid refrigerant is the heated liquid refrigerant that enters the expansion valve. To be sure, feel the liquid line where it connects to the expansion valve.
