The Carel iJF Advanced is a compact parametric controller designed for standalone refrigerated food storage and catering display units. Supplied as part number IJFPSA4R02S0305, this small-panel version operates on 115–230 Vac (90–264 Vac operating range) and combines a 3-digit LED display with NFC mobile configuration, a real-time clock (RTC), and RS485 BMS serial connectivity, making it well suited to both standalone installations and networked refrigeration plant.
Four relay outputs provide control of compressor, condenser fan, defrost heater, and auxiliary loads. NO1 carries the 2 HP compressor relay (12 A with screw terminals, 14 A spade), NO2 an 8 A relay, and NO3/NO4 each rated at 5 A. Three analogue sensor inputs (S1, S2, S3) accept NTC, NTC-HT, NTC-LT, PT1000, and PTC probes at cable lengths up to 10 m giving flexibility for cabinet air, evaporator, and condenser temperature monitoring without additional signal conditioning.
Two configurable digital inputs (DI1, DI2) handle door contacts, external alarms, or fast digital signals up to 2 kHz. The removable terminal block simplifies field replacement without re-wiring, and the IP65-rated front panel meets the demands of commercial food retail environments.
Connectivity and Configuration
NFC (up to 10 mm) supports parameter upload and download via the Carel APPLICA and CONTROULA mobile apps on Android 6+ and iOS 11+. The RS485 BMS port (non-opto-isolated) enables integration with building management systems running Modbus or proprietary Carel protocols. An integrated RTC with battery backup retains time and date for up to two years without mains power, supporting HACCP alarm logging and defrost scheduling.
