UCHBDH0001150 - μChiller Controller DIN-RAIL mounting for ON-OFF and BLDC Compressor, High Efficiency version with built in unipolar EXV Driver

The Carel UCHBDH0001150 is the High Efficiency variant of the µChiller DIN rail controller range, designed for complete management of air-to-water and water-to-water chiller and heat pump units. It controls both On/Off and BLDC (brushless DC) compressors and includes a built-in unipolar electronic expansion valve (EXV) driver, delivering enhanced refrigeration circuit efficiency without requiring a separate EVD drive board.

Configured via the Carel Applica app over NFC or Bluetooth, the µChiller supports full unit commissioning from a smartphone or tablet, including refrigerant selection, BLDC compressor model setup, and parameter configuration before uploading settings to the controller. BMS connectivity is via Modbus RS485, with support for up to 20 connected devices on the FieldBUS interface.

The controller handles up to two compressors per circuit and, with the addition of a [circuit 2 expansion board (UCHBE00001150)](https://www.i-acs.co.uk/store/[VERIFY SLUG]), can manage two independent refrigerant circuits. Six relay outputs (NO1–NO6) control compressors, pumps, fans and ancillary loads, while two 0–10 V analogue outputs provide variable speed drive signals. Seven NTC analogue inputs cover evaporation, condensation, discharge and suction temperature sensing across both circuits.

Typical applications include air-cooled chillers, water-cooled chillers, reversible heat pumps, and high-efficiency chiller packages where BLDC compressor management and integrated EXV control are required in a single DIN rail-mounted device. The unit is rated for A2, A2L and A3 refrigerants in accordance with IEC 60335-2-89 and related standards.

Powered from 24 Vac/dc (SELV/PELV Class 2), the UCHBDH0001150 operates from −20 to +60°C and meets EN/UL60730-1 safety standards. An optional ultracap emergency power module (J10) maintains controller state during supply interruptions.
