What Our Customers Are Saying
The ebm-papst CN1133 is a Modbus Monitor & Control Unit (MMCU) designed to connect, auto-address, and manage networks of up to 99 ebm-papst Modbus-enabled EC fans running firmware version 5.0 or later. Communication between the MMCU and the fan network uses a two-wire plus ground RS485 connection, with the unit handling auto-addressing and re-ordering, automatically eliminating the need for manual commissioning of individual fan addresses.
Configuration is carried out via a built-in web server interface, accessible over Wi-Fi hotspot or Ethernet. The web server provides real-time monitoring and control data across the entire fan network from a single point. A dedicated BMS port allows the MMCU to operate as a Modbus RTU slave, enabling integration with external building management systems and HVAC controllers.
The CN1133 variant includes an LTE NB-IoT daughter board and an external antenna connection, enabling on-board cellular cloud connectivity to the ebm-papst InSights® dashboard. The purchase includes the first year's subscription to the InSights platform. This makes the CN1133 suitable for installations where remote performance monitoring, energy data, and fault visibility across EC fan arrays are required without relying on a site Ethernet connection.
The CN1133 is used in air handling units (AHUs), fan coil unit (FCU) arrays, and data centre cooling installations where multiple ebm-papst EC fans operate in parallel. It is also suited to car park ventilation, warehouse HVAC, and any application requiring centralised Modbus fan network control with remote cloud monitoring via NB-IoT cellular connectivity.
