What Our Customers Are Saying

CAREL has discontinued the pLDPRO display family, with supply ending in mid 2026. For most HVAC applications, the pGDn is the recommended replacement: PGD1000F01 without buzzer or PGD1000FZ1 with buzzer. It is electrically and functionally equivalent, but slightly larger, so check the panel cut out first.
The pLDPRO has long served as the local HMI on CAREL controlled HVAC plant, giving engineers and operators a straightforward way to view status and adjust settings at the unit.
CAREL's phase out notice cites two reasons: the product family has reached the end of its design life, and key components are becoming obsolete. The manufacturer now directs customers towards alternative display ranges for all future requirements.
No. A pLDPRO that is operating normally can stay in service. Discontinuation affects how you source the next unit, not whether the current one has to come out.
The change matters at the point a display needs replacing, for example when it is:
At that stage, hunting for remaining pLDPRO stock is not a sensible long term plan. Identify the installed display and match it to a current alternative instead. For HVAC, that alternative is usually the pGDn, which keeps the existing controls in service rather than forcing a full system replacement because the HMI is obsolete.
The withdrawal covers standard, panel mounted, neutral and customised versions. Standard part numbers include:
Part Number |
Description |
|---|---|
| PLD00GF700 | pLDPRO, buzzer, standard tLAN/pLAN, single package |
| PLD00GF701 | pLDPRO, buzzer, standard tLAN/pLAN |
| PLD00GFP00 | pLDPRO 132 x 64, buzzer, pLAN |
| PLD00GFP01 | pLDPRO 132 x 64, buzzer, pLAN |
| PLD01GFP00 | pLDPRO 132 x 64, buzzer, pLAN, neutral |
| PLD00LF400 | pLD, large panel mount |
| PLD00SF400 | pLD, small panel mount |
| PLD01SF400 | pLD, small panel mount, neutral |
| PLDH0SF400 | pLD small, HEOS |
| PLDH0SF4F0 | pLD small, HEOS |
Several customised pLD variants are also included. You do not need to work out the replacement yourself: send iACS the part number, or details of the display and application, and we will confirm the correct alternative.
For HVAC applications, CAREL points pLDPRO users to the pGDn range:
For the relevant pLDPRO variants, the pGDn is a pin to pin, like for like swap. It connects the same way and delivers equivalent functionality, so there is no need to redesign the control strategy or reprogram the system.
pLDPRO to pGDn |
|
|---|---|
| Functionality | Equivalent |
| Wiring | Pin to pin |
| Controls compatibility | Like for like on applicable HVAC versions |
| Installation | Direct swap |
| Footprint | pGDn is slightly larger |
| Mounting | Check existing cut out |
The one practical difference is size. The pGDn is slightly larger than the pLDPRO, which matters wherever the display sits in a tight space, such as:
The electrical side of the swap is simple. The physical side needs checking: confirm the existing cut out or mounting arrangement will accept the pGDn before installation day.
Not every pLD takes the same replacement. Alongside the standard pLDPRO models, the phase out covers panel mounted, neutral, customised and HEOS specific versions, and some of these follow a different route. CAREL's documentation, for instance, directs certain HEOS displays to HEOS PRO rather than pGDn.
That is why the exact existing part matters. If you are unsure what is installed, talk to our team before ordering and we will confirm the right replacement across the affected pLD range.
The first step is always identifying exactly what is fitted. iACS can:
This is especially useful for facilities teams, HVAC contractors and OEMs managing several sites or equipment portfolios where different pLD variants may be installed. Our support continues beyond the phase out, and we will remain available for pLDPRO enquiries going forward.
No. The range was withdrawn in mid 2026. Plan a replacement for when an installed display next needs changing.
The pGDn range: PGD1000F01 without buzzer or PGD1000FZ1 with buzzer.
For applicable variants, yes. It is pin to pin with equivalent functionality. The only difference to plan for is its slightly larger footprint.
No. Where the pGDn applies, it replaces the display alone and the wider system stays in place.
No, it is slightly larger. Check the mounting before installation.
Send us the part number from the existing display and we will identify a suitable replacement.
Yes. Share the part number and application details and our team will confirm the correct option.
For most HVAC installations, the pLDPRO phase out is a manageable change. The pGDn keeps equivalent functionality and pin to pin compatibility, and the only real check is whether the larger unit fits the existing mounting. Neutral, customised and HEOS displays may need a different route, and iACS can identify the correct one and supply it.
